If you make baseball bats and have sold a bunch of them on an auction site, you need to ensure they get to your customers in good shape. Below are some ways you can do this so you can continue selling your bats and making money.

Boxes

Because bats are long, you will likely have to purchase the boxes to put them in. You can purchase tube boxes from the company you are using to ship the bats. You could also go to sporting goods equipment stores in your area to see if they have bat boxes. If so, they would likely give them to you. This is a great way to save money because you have a lot of bats to mail. Golf club shops may also have empty boxes they will gladly give you.

There are triangle boxes that you can purchase that fit a bat perfectly. No matter which box you choose, use high quality packaging tape. Tape the ends of the boxes with two to three layers of tape to ensure the bats do not come out on one of the ends. When you are finished, put strapping tape around the entire box to offer more security. Strapping tape is made of a durable nylon so it is much stronger than traditional boxing tape.

Packaging

Once the bats are in the boxes, you need to add packaging to keep them from moving around. You can use paper as a packaging material. Paper is a good material to choose as it breaks down naturally, which makes the paper eco-friendly. Paper packaging is thicker than traditional paper and can be wrapped around the bats with ease. Talk with a paper and packaging company if you want to use paper, as they can sell it to you.

You can also wrap the baseball bats in bubble wrap. There are different types of bubble wrap you can choose from including:

High grade: High grade bubble wrap is made with stronger and more durable plastic. This is a good choice for heavier items. If you choose high grade bubble wrap, it will maintain its cushioning during shipment even through rough handling.

General: This type of bubble wrap is made with mid-grade plastic. It is strong enough to withstand most types of shipping accidents. This is the most common type of bubble wrap used.

Low grade: This type of bubble wrap does not offer much protection. It is often used to wrap things to prevent scratches during transport. If dropped, it will not protect the item.

If you choose bubble wrap, make sure it is at least mid-grade quality.

Do not forget to add insurance to the bats when you ship them out just in case they do get damaged.
